The Dementia League is a nonprofit organization that shares dementia research, prevention information, educational resources, and related public health content.

    The Dementia League may use Meta/Facebook API tools to publish educational posts to our Facebook Page and manage public Page content. When using these tools, we may process limited technical information necessary to publish or manage posts, such as Page identifiers, post identifiers, publishing status, error messages, access permissions granted by authorized administrators, and related metadata.


We do not use the Facebook API to collect private Facebook user profile information from the public. We do not sell Facebook user data.


How We Use Information


We may use information to:

  • Publish educational content about dementia research and prevention.
  • Operate and improve our website and programs.
  • Respond to messages or inquiries.
  • Send newsletters or updates when a user has signed up.
  • Manage public social media posts and nonprofit communications.

Facebook, Meta,  and X API Use


The Dementia League may use Meta/Facebook/X developer tools or APIs to post content that we manage. Our API use is limited to nonprofit communications, educational content publishing, and related Page management functions. We do not use Meta platform data for unrelated advertising, resale, profiling, or unauthorized data sharing.


Any Page access tokens or platform credentials used by authorized administrators are stored securely and used only for the purpose of publishing or managing The Dementia League’s own social media content.


Sharing of Information


We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.

We may share limited information only with:

  • Service providers that help operate our website, email systems, analytics, hosting, security, or communication tools.
  • Social media platforms when needed to publish or manage content.
  • Legal or regulatory authorities if required by law.
  • Authorized personnel or contractors who need access to operate The Dementia League’s services.

If your request relates to Facebook or Meta platform data, please include enough information for us to identify the relevant account, Page interaction, form submission, or communication. We will review and respond to deletion requests within a reasonable time, subject to legal, security, nonprofit, or compliance obligations.


Email Communications


If you sign up for emails or newsletters, you may unsubscribe by using the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting us directly.


Children’s Privacy


The Dementia League does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.


Health and Medical Information


The Dementia League provides educational information only. Our website and social media content are not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Users should consult qualified healthcare professionals regarding medical decisions. Unless specifically stated in a separate consent or research authorization process, users should not submit protected health information through ordinary website forms, email, or social media messages.
