In the dark stone, those with dementia hold fast against the cold, against the hardness. Reality frays. The door called home remains just ahead, always near, never opened. They yearn for the first arms that sheltered them, for mother, for father, for the first place that meant safety. And though the darkness gathers, they are not lost. They have one another.
